• Office supply chain Staples has unexpectedly called a review of its creative duties, billings of which are estimated at $50 million (£35m; €57m) to $70m. Eight-year incumbent Cliff Freeman & Partners in New York has decided not to participate.

• Miami’s Crispin Porter Bogusky has pulled out of the review of Verizon Information Services’ $30m–$50m SuperPages account, saying “it wasn’t the right fit”. The withdrawal leaves Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners in New York, the same city’s Bozell and TBWA/Chiat/Day in Playa del Rey, California, to fight for the duties.
