CHICAGO: Accenture, the professional services firm, was named corporate marketer of the year at the 2016 B2 Awards held by the Business Marketing Association (BMA), a unit of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA).

The B2 Awards aim to recognise business-to-business campaigns which effectively drive growth, and this year covered 23 categories spanning various media platforms and client needs.

Accenture bested Emerson, the manufacturing and technology company, and TD Ameritrade Institutional, the investment group, in the large corporate marketer of the year contest.

Moreover, Accenture also claimed the "best in show" award for a campaign, created with agency TBWA\Chiat\Day, which posted the highest score among nearly 700 entries.

Elsewhere, gyro was honoured as large agency of the year after a shoot out with fellow finalists Doremus and MRM//McCann.

DCP Midstream, the energy specialist, picked up the title of small corporate marketer of the year, while Stein IAS carried off the small agency of the year prize.

"We believe this year's awards are particularly significant because the entries were judged not only on the strength of the creative work, but also on how well each program drove business growth," said Bob Liodice, President/CEO of the ANA.

"Judges took significant time to review the strategic aspects of each program, so being a winner this year should be even more treasured."
