Californian semi-conductor giant Advanced Micro Devices is to consolidate its global advertising within a single agency.

Currently split between Boston shop Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos (Interpublic Group) and the London office of Publicis Groupe, the aggregated business is valued between $25-$30 million. The former handles domestic US activity, the latter is the main European support.

According to AMD director of corporate branding Bob Kennedy, the consolidated account will cover the US, Europe, Latin America, Japan and Asia Pacific. The brief will include corporate image advertising, channel advertising, online advertising and local advertising support – although no mention was made of media planning/buying.

The review will be conducted under the baton of West Hollywood consultancy Select Resources International. But SRI declined to say whether it will include the two incumbents.
