Big data was the theme of the 2012 International Conference on Online Media Measurement (I-COM), held in Rome, Italy. Fittingly, the two-day event opened with a panel discussion titled simply ‘The Business of Big Data’. This session proved to be both a basis for the remaining talks and an apt summary of the key issues businesses and marketers face as they address the brave new world of big data.
