Tencent, owner of the QQ instant messenger and online portal, is one of China's leading internet companies. Its Virtual World Real Trust survey was set up to investigate online attitudes and behaviour in China's Tier 1 to Tier 4 cities. The study interviewed 3,133 people in nine cities.
