The 2007 federal election communications campaign by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) was able to change the behaviour of hundreds of thousands of Australians and ensure a representative election.

This campaign ensured record numbers of people enrolled and record numbers of people voted correctly on polling day. The numbers involved are significant. They are enough to swing seats and, in a tight election, be the difference between a party winning and losing government.
