Over the past five years we have seen a dramatic increase in the acceptance of online shopping by consumers. The numbers speak for themselves: according to figures for the UK published by the Office for National Statistics and the Interactive Media in Retail Group, of the £26 billion increase in retail sales during this period in real terms, just under £24 billion was online growth.
