Few television viewers could forget the Partnership for a Drug-Free America (PDFA) "Fried Egg" spot, which aired in the 1980s. In the commercial the viewer was shown an egg ("your brain"), a frying pan ("drugs"), and an egg frying in a pan ("your brain on drugs"). Finally, the announcer asked, "Any questions?" It was a graphic and extraordinarily powerful image, but it was just one commercial among many in an ongoing campaign. The campaign was altered somewhat with the times.
