Pyrex Ovenware, manufactured by Corning Glass Works, was introduced as "glass dishes for baking" in 1915. This transparent bakeware, the first product of its type, was initially received with skepticism. Advertising and in-store demonstrations were instrumental in changing consumer doubts to acceptance, however.
