In the late 1950s General Mills became the first major cereal company to air animated television commercials. It was during this time that the Trix Rabbit was created. He became one of television's most enduring advertising characters. Known for his long, floppy ears and conniving ways, he disguised himself in different costumes, trying to trick children into giving him a taste of Trix, only to be foiled in his attempts.
