Rapidly plummeting prices for large plasma and LCD screens and the enhanced availability of the internet have led to the emergence of a new platform for advertising in the form of digital media. The deployment of screen-based digital media has gained in popularity over recent years, particularly within the retail environment, where digital TV screens – or digital signage – are positioned in outlets to carry content or advertising that is directly designed to drive product sales.
