For someone who cares about the nuances of naming and the politics of name selection, it has been fascinating to observe the evolution of the name for the US military campaign in response to the events of 11 September, and the commotion this has caused. First coming to life under the name 'Infinite Reach', the title was changed on 17 September to 'Noble Eagle', on the 19 to 'Infinite Justice' and, finally, on the 22 to 'Enduring Freedom'. What was going on here?

Certainly it would be unheard of in the corporate...
