Last month newspapers were printed in Fleet Street for the last time. It is a neat end to a decade of momentous change in the industrys ownership, production methods and roster of titles.
The 1980s opened with a punch-drunk Times Newspapers returning from protracted suspension. Soon they were sold by the exhausted Ken Thomson to the impatient Rupert Murdoch.
