In February 1981 a group of media researchers met in New Orleans to talk about readership research.

In November 1999 they met again in Florence. Only a few of the original delegates still attend, but they have been joined over the years by practically everyone else in the world with any serious interest in the subject. It is the best forum in the world for readership research, though also the only one.
