Few can say a workplace in-joke went viral, but that's exactly what happened to Tatsuo Nomura, who is Senior Product Manager for PokemonGo at Niantic Labs.

Nomura launched a prototype as an April Fool's day prank at Google in 2014. Today, PokemonGo is a worldwide mobile gaming phenomenon and boasts more than 500 million downloads worldwide. 

Nomura discussed how PokemonGo came to be, and how the game married Niantic's brand philosophies with cutting edge augmented reality innovation at Spikes Asia in Singapore recently.
