Social media companies have become a major presence at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity over recent years. One of the most-hyped of 2015, photo-sharing app Snapchat, was a major presence at this year's Festival.

Two separate sessions, one with Snapchat's 25-year-old founder and CEO, Evan Spiegel, the other with its chief strategy officer, former Credit Suisse banker Imran Khan, gave some clues about the app's future strategy – including its fast-evolving efforts to monetize its audience via ads.
