Financial adspend accounted for $14.4bn globally in the first three quarters of 2014 and took a 6.2% share of the global total, according to data from Nielsen. This represents annual growth of 4.4%, ahead of all-category growth of 3.0%. By region, North America takes the biggest share of financial adspend on 46%, followed by Asia-Pacific (22.2%). All regions registered growth, except Asia-Pacific which saw spend drop 3.3%. At a global level, TV is the preferred channel for financial advertisers and takes 64% of spend.
