Cause trumps story
Analysis of social-driven case studies by marketing consultant, Peter Field, indicates that cause-led strategies have an effectiveness advantage over story-led strategies. There is evidence to suggest that linking a brand with a broader purpose or cause can be a powerful approach. However, there is no evidence that 'grassroots' campaigns are any more or less effective than 'top-down' campaigns.
