Awards season gets into gear

It's a busy time for awards at the moment, with the US and Global Effies announced earlier this month and the Cannes Lions to be announced next week. Winning Effies cases, including this year's Grand Effie, Old Spice's The Man Your Man Could Smell Like campaign, are now available to Warc subscribers - and we will also be publishing a full set of Creative Effectiveness Lions winners following the festival.

But this week sees the climax of our Warc Prize for Asian Strategy, the winner of which will be announced on Thursday (June 16th). We're currently in the process of unveiling the 10 finalists for the prize - follow @warcasia, our Singapore office, on Twitter for further details.

Also on June 16th, an international jury will choose the winners of one of Europe's major ad prizes: the EACA Euro Effies. The judges, chaired by EACA director general Dominic Lyle, are to choose from a shortlist of 30 entries, of which 12 are from Germany and five apiece are from the UK and France.

Winners of the Euro Effies are announced at a ceremony in Brussels, Belgium on September 15th - you can find out more on EACA's website.

Finally, there's news of an unusual ad award - this time from Facebook, the world's largest social network. Facebook Studio has launched the Facebook Awards, which aims to recognise especially creative Facebook ads and marketing campaigns. It should come as no surprise that the awards are free-to-enter, that entries are put in an online gallery and that the number of Likes from Facebook users each campaign attracts has a significant bearing on whether or not it ultimately wins an award.

You can keep fully up to date on recently-published case studies on Warc's Awards pages - and you can also use our Global Awards Calendar to review upcoming calls to entry, deadlines and ceremony dates.
