Earlier this month, the ad world enjoyed one of its biggest nights of the year as the 2010 IPA Effectiveness Awards were announced in London.

But the build-up to the 2011 Awards has already begun, with the IPA officially announcing its call for entries this week. Warc subscribers looking to get a head start on building a winning case study can browse all of 2010's winning and non-winning papers here, or jump straight to the grand prix case study, from MCBD and Hovis, here.

And for those who are looking to dig deeper, hosts a complete set of winning IPA papers stretching back to the Awards' inception in 1980. Click here if you'd like to browse through all 1,291!

One thing to note for potential entrants is that 2011 is the "alternate" year for the IPA Effectiveness Awards: only cases for campaigns with an annual communications budget of up to £2.5 million will be considered. The IPA's decision to impose a budget cap every two years gives smaller clients and agencies a chance to shine.

Each case must be up to 3,500 words long (including 500 words discussing the campaign's media strategy). The closing date for pre-registration falls on January 31st 2011, while the deadline for entries is on April 15th.

As you can see from the Warc Awards Calendar, there are just a few more awards dates for your diary remaining in 2010. The DMA Awards - honouring the best direct marketing campaigns of the year - will be announced in early December; we'll have all the winning cases available for you to browse soon after.

Other major ad events later in the month include the John Caples Awards and the IMC European Awards, sponsored by Warc.
