'How to' articles were among the content on Warc most viewed by Canadian marketers during the course of 2014, an analysis of popular articles has shown.

Toolkit 2014 - How to keep your brand ahead of the competition, produced by Warc in association with Deloitte, was the article most read by Canadian marketers for the year. The Toolkit highlighted five key marketing challenges and offered the latest thinking, new research and real-life examples for ways to respond to these challenges.

This was followed by Content marketing 101: Strategy, design, delivery, which discussed the value of content marketing and how marketers can best develop this.

In third place was a contribution from research company IRI, 10 supermarket trends. This list named big data and smarter retail analytics, multichannel shopping and the value of consumer loyalty as among the trends currently facingsupermarkets around the world.

A Warc Trends Snapshot took fourth place. The rise of mobile messaging apps explored the implications for brands, including their use in qualitative research, customer-relationship programmes and the distribution of offers.

In fifth spot was a Havas Worldwide Prosumer report, The new consumer and the sharing economy. This outlined how consumers are looking towards 'smarter consumption' and making purchases based on social values as a solution to the choice they face between overconsumption or a weakening national economy.
